New App Lets You Join It For $20 A Month

SEATTLE — Heralded as a bold and innovative step in software development, a new app from Amazon will allow users to sign up to use it for $20 a month.

Amazon told shareholders this week that their eagerly-anticipated software release will charge users the fee on signing up for the app, after which they would continue to pay $20 each month to continue using it.

“The app will have features, many of which will have dedicated functions,” explained lead designer Deepak Singh, emphasizing that users will be able to have the app and enjoy the app. “It has so many things. Think of an app and imagine what it is doing — for $20 each month, this app is one or more of those things. Two-factor authentication, cross-compatibility, account linking and other kinds of features typically found on apps. It’s all there.”

The app is designed to appeal directly to the often-underserved market of people who have $20 or more, Singh said.

“The possibilities of this app, in essence, are unlimited,” he continued, pulling out his phone and tapping on its screen. “The app is going to be something that you are able to put, directly here, onto your phone. Any consumer will be able to go on their phone, go to where apps are sold, and then give us $20 to have it.”

At press time, Amazon had reportedly begun development on a button that you can press to pay $2.
